They use the pressure of a gas, usually compressed air, to control mechanical movement, perform tasks, and regulate fluid flow. In automation systems, pneumatic control components play an important role in converting electrical signals into mechanical movements, thereby achieving efficient, precise and reliable control.

Basic components of pneumatic control components

Pneumatic control elements are systems of basic components that work together to achieve mechanical movement, perform tasks, and regulate fluid flow.
cylinder
Cylinder is one of the most common actuators in pneumatic systems. It is mainly composed of cylinder barrel, piston, piston rod and sealing elements. Cylinders are divided into two types: single-acting and double-acting according to the working mode.
Single-acting cylinder: Works in only one direction, usually with an external force (such as a spring) returning the piston. When gas pressure pushes the piston into motion, work is done in one direction only.
Double-acting cylinder: Able to perform work in both directions. The gas passes through the two ports of the cylinder pushing and pulling the piston respectively. Double-acting cylinders are more flexible in reciprocating motion and precise positioning.
The working principle of the cylinder is that by introducing compressed air into the cylinder, the piston is driven by the gas to produce linear motion. Cylinders are widely used in industrial applications such as automated assembly lines, mechanical clamping, lifting and pushing.
Pneumatic valve
Pneumatic valve is a key component for controlling gas flow. It is responsible for regulating the flow direction, pressure and flow rate of the gas source. The basic structure of a pneumatic valve includes a valve body, a valve core, a driving device and a sealing element.
Valve body: It is the shell of the pneumatic valve, which plays the role of supporting and fixing the valve core.
Valve core: It is the moving part of the pneumatic valve, which controls the opening and closing of the gas channel through the movement of the valve core. The design and shape of the valve core directly affects the regulation and control of air flow.
Driving device: Responsible for promoting the movement of the valve core. Common driving devices include electromagnetic drive, pneumatic drive and manual operation.
Sealing element: Used to prevent gas leakage and maintain the sealing performance of the pneumatic system.
Pneumatic valves can be divided into various types according to their functions and structures, including straight-way valves, three-way valves, four-way valves, etc., which are used to achieve different control requirements. How pneumatic valves work

Gas channel control: Pneumatic valves usually have multiple gas channels, which can be selectively opened or closed by controlling the position of the valve core. This enables precise control of gas flow direction, pressure and flow.
